MENTOR NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES
Being a mentor to a low-income, deserving student is meaningful and beneficial on its own, but being a mentor with Take Stock in Children also allows you to meet a diverse group of dedicated volunteers and community leaders as well as be invited to a attend a wide variety of local events. Some of the wonderful networking opportunities that are available to Take Stock in Children mentors are:
Held at different locations in Duval County and throughout the year, our Mentor Mixers give mentors the opportunity to meet other mentors in numerous professional fields, share their mentoring experiences, and enjoy a complimentary beverage and light hors d’oeuvres. MENTOR APPRECIATION MONTH
January is Mentor Appreciation Month! Every January, Take Stock in Children hosts a reception in honor of our valued mentors. Your Mentor Coordinator will send all mentors personal invitations to the next mentor appreciation reception with the date, time, and location as well as RSVP instructions. Take Stock in Children partners with many community-based organizations and corporate entities throughout the county. Because of these partnerships, we are invited to many cross-cultural and educational events, trainings, and workshops throughout the year. Once these invites are received by Take Stock in Children staff members, we share the information with our mentors.
