Change a

today…

and break the cycle

Now more than ever, we must
Take Stock in our children.

For over 20 years, Take Stock in Children of Duval County and now Putnam County, has been changing the lives of deserving (or under-served) children by combining in-school support through a college success coach, the promise of a college or vocational school tuition scholarship and most importantly the guidance of a caring mentor.

Our comprehensive wraparound services start in middle school, continue through high school and most importantly, remain through post-secondary completion.

One-on-One Mentoring: Providing underserved youth with a caring volunteer adult role model.

College Readiness Coaching: Engaging middle and high school students with college focused wraparound services.

Post-Secondary Retention: Providing post-secondary transition services and retention coaching.

The Crisis

Most of Florida’s youth in poverty will never complete college.

Low-income and minority children face insurmountable obstacles that make finishing high school difficult and going to college almost impossible. Right now, almost 60% of Florida children are living in poverty and the numbers are increasing every year.

Less than half of high school students living in poverty will graduate high school. Of those that do graduate, only half will attend college.

College graduates are less likely to be unemployed and will earn an average of  $10,000-$16,000 more a year over those students who only finish high school.
We help students graduate from high school with the knowledge and skills they need to graduate college and successfully enter the work force.
